This place is built in an old estate and makes us feel like staying in an ancestral house with historical roots. Because of this, you get to be comfortable as if it were your own home. Although dated as compared to newly opened hotels in the city, you will notice that the management has continued to refurbish interiors, recondition amenities, and replace old furniture. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, well-kept, and equipped with a cozy bed and a hot shower. The surroundings have pleasant and well-maintained greenery which makes it more relaxing. Staff are warm and inviting, probably the finest customer service I have experienced. Their pool is very clean and the best for cooling off during the summer season.

Hotel was exceptionally clean too our room. Front desk reception willing to assist you with all kind of questions. Center Lodging Plaza was in a awesome area and value for cash. All the staff were supportive and inviting. The room was essential but clean and comfortable. It was great to have tea making offices within the room. The breakfast was truly good. Easy to get to by car. Huge hotel with numerous hallways require route capabilities. Sensible measured, clean room with all I request. The breakfast is basic but you get to eat there. Possibly a few more natural products would be awesome. Inside strolling separate of a variety of restaurant and bars. The Cathedral is inside an easy walk. The front work area staff were wonderful and very supportive. Room was of a conventional measure and exceptionally clean.

We arrived early at 11am and check in wasn't until 3 pm so we left our bags and had a wander around the area. This hotel is in an excellent location right in the main square in the heart of the old town with restaurants, bars, shops, cafes, art galleries, museums and nightlife all around and all the main sights within walking distance. We had a drink in the bar whilst waiting for our room and I must say that we found the welcome from reception and the staff very poor. The bar area has a fire centerpiece but the atmosphere is cold and unwelcoming. We were eventually given our room keys at 3:30 and were shocked on first entering the room how shabby and battered it was. It looked like a prison cell with a window that looked straight into the windows of a facing block of flats. It was dirty and the furniture was all scratched and totally off putting. After complaining we were told that if we wanted a better room we would have to pa 49 Euros each per night. After stating this was unacceptable we were eventually given a slightly better room with a window that faced a dirty brick wall. The room did have a hairdryer, mini bar very expensive no safe in room though. This is a three star hotel so I guess it does match that standard. The reception is open 24 hours and there is a conference room, plaza bar, a northern lights wake up service, laundry and dry cleaning service, free WiFi and a elevator to the lift. The Plaza bar is located in the lobby and there is a daily happy hour from 16:00-18:00. Alcohol is very expensive in Iceland and not easy to buy wine outside of bars and hotels. Each town has a specialized wine shop as wine cannot be bought at local supermarkets and bars, hotels and restaurants have different happy hour times. There is an app that locates each place and their happy hour times. Breakfast was very simple with not much choice on offer. We left early on our day of departure and the only thing on offer was tea, coffee and croissants. Check our was speedy.
